Number Eight Victim of San Bruno Gas Explosion Dies from Injuries

September 28, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports  by a San Bruno gas explosion attorney, the  number eight victim’s life has been claimed by the San Bruno gas explosion.

According to the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office, James Emil Franco age 58 died from his injuries Monday morning. Franco was a patient at the UCSF Medical Center where he was being treated for serious injuries received in the PG&E gas explosion.

The coroner’s office will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of Franco’s death and whether he lived at 951 Glenview Drive. This is where Franco was when the gas explosion occurred on September 9th, a house that was one house away from the intersection where the pipeline ruptured in the Crestmoor neighborhood.

City mayor James Ruane stated there were still four people hospitalized in critical condition. After speaking with a Senate transportation subcommittee there were 66 people injured in the explosion and 37 houses were destroyed, with 18 other homes uninhabitable.
