Riverside Metrolink Train Hits and Kills Woman
The Riverside train accident occurred at approximately 5:41 a.m. according to authorities, in the vicinity of Jefferson Street and IndianaAvenue.
According Riverside Police Department Lt. Melissa Bartholomew the westbound train was traveling to Union Station in downtown L.A. when it struck and killed the pedestrian.
The woman that was walking on the train tracks in the vicinity east of the La Sierra Station when she was struck was pronounced dead at the scene, there were no other injuries. The Orange County 91 and Inland Empire lines were closed for several hours after the accident while the scene was investigated. Passengers from the trains that were delayed were put on buses.
