Toyota Has Fix for Sticking Accelerators

February 1, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports Toyota has announced that their engineers have devised a fix for the accelerator pedals that have been included in recent recalls.

The fix that Toyota engineers have developed and tests involves reinforcing the pedal assembly, which is where the problem is located with the models of vehicles that were recalled for sticking gas pedals.

Reinforcing the gas pedal assembly according to Toyota Motor Corp. will eliminate the pedal from sticking and have been shipped to dealers. According to Toyota dealers will be working extended hours, with some working as long as 24 hours a day in order to quickly repair the defective pedal assembly. Ehline Law, Toyota injury lawyer, states that they have also stopped production of vehicles for the week.
