Auto Safety Experts Say Toyota Too Slow in Explaining Sudden Acceleration
January 31, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports auto safety advocates have stated that the problems with the Toyota vehicles that have been recalled these problems do not explain all of the Toyota sudden acceleration problems.
The Toyota executives have said they are continuing to investigate the reports of problems and other potential defects. They have begun the smart brake technology to override the open throttle, and they are also investigating if a keyless ignition will make it easier to turn the ignition off in the event there is an emergency with the accelerator system.
The Toyota auto safety advocates have stated that the response by Toyota was to slow with some vehicles having issues for as long as a decade and the recalls were not started until after a deadly August accident. They have also stated that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration did not find reasons for concern.
