Eight Top Toyota Models Linked To Recall Off The Market for Auto Buyers

January 26, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports Toyota announced they are stopping sales of eight of their top models. Toyota has made the decision to stop selling their top selling models while they work to correct the Toyota accelerator problems that caused the recall of 2.3 million in the United States.

The recall was for 2009-2010 RAV4, 2005-2010 Avalon, the 2009-2010 Corolla model, 2007-2010 Camry, 2010 Highlander, the 2009-2010 Matrix, 2007-2010 Tundra and 2008-2010 Sequoia. According to Brian Lyons, spokesman for Toyota Motor Corp., the recall was due to the accelerator pedal sticking and wearing.

This recall occurred less than a few months earlier when there was one of the largest auto recalls with 4.2 million vehicles. Toyota recall lawyer, Michael Ehline, says that the vehicles were recalled by the company due to accelerator pedals becoming stuck after being jammed by the floor mats.
