November 24, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a car struck a wall and then drove into a home while trying to avoid hitting another vehicle.

According to Placentia Police Sgt. Ken Alexander the accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. when a vehicle made a U-turn in front of a red Pontiac that was in the westbound lane on Yorba Linda Boulevard.

The Pontiac according to the Sgt. tried avoiding colliding with the vehicle and crashed through a brick wall and through the backyard of a home at 333 Rio Grand Avenue.

The Pontiac then traveled over a covered patio destroying part of that, and through a set of French doors leading to the kitchen and family room of the home.

The family at the time was in another room of the home and the parents who had been watching television had left to go to a home improvement store.

According to Sgt. Alexander the driver was a Marine one his way home from Camp Pendleton, and complained of pain in the knee and wrist, but was not transported to the hospital. Ehline Law assists injured Marines and is expecting a call.
