Pedestrian Struck By Two Vehicles Dies

November 23, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a man was struck by two vehicles Saturday night.

The man identified by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office was reportedly Michael Palmer, age 56 and resident of Richmond. According to Richmond Police officer Sgt. Bisa French the accident occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday night, at the Carlson Boulevard and Carl Avenue intersection.

Palmer was struck by a vehicle in which the driver stopped and called authorities for help, while waiting for help to arrive a second vehicle struck Palmer and fled the scene. According to Sgt. French the driver of the second vehicle turned themselves into police later and was not charged pending the outcome of the investigation.
