Motorcycle Officer Injured In Pacific Coast Highway Crash
November 21, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a Santa Monica police officer was injured in an early morning motorcycle accident on the Pacific Coast Highway.
According to Santa Monica Police Sgt. Cody Green the accident occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. Saturday morning on the Pacific Coast Highway, in the vicinity of the California Incline.
The accident occurred when the motorcycle officer attempted to pull over a truck on the Pacific Coast Highway and the driver put their brakes on suddenly, causing the officers motorcycle to hit the back of the truck.
The officer was transported to an area hospital and the extent of his injuries has not been released. The motorist was questioned at the scene of the crash and was questioned by authorities. The driver of the truck was not arrested.
According to the California Highway Patrol the westbound lanes of the Santa Monica Freeway had to be closed, while the scene of the accident was investigated, as far as the northbound lanes of the Pacific Coast Highway at the McClure Tunnel.
