Teen Killed in Garden Grove Rollover Crash
November 2, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a 19 year old man was fatally injured in a Garden Grove rollover collision.
According to Garden Grove police the accident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. in the vicinity of the Orangewood and Faye Avenues intersection. The two vehicles both had teenage occupants and rolled over in the collision.
One of the overturned vehicles trapped two of the teenagers in the vehicle according to fire fighters that had to extricate them from the vehicle. According to fire fighters both of the occupants were seriously injured and the 19 year old man that was extricated died later at an area hospital.
In the two vehicles held seven teenagers, which three were transported to the hospital, including the teen that died and two complained of minor injuries. There were two other teens that were not injured in the collision.
According to the Garden Grove police the cause of the collision is still under investigation, although they do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident. The authorities have not released the name of the man that was fatally injured pending notification of his next of kin.
