Lady Killed In Three Car Accident In Tustin –After Exiting Vehicle

October 8, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports an accident that involved three vehicles took the life of Magdalena Wojciechowska after she exited her disabled vehicle.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Hink the accident occurred on the 55 Freeway after Worjciechowska’s vehicle became disabled in the vicinity north of Santa Clara Avenue at approximately 9:25 p.m.

It was reported that after the 1919 Volvo Wojciechowska was driving became disabled she exited the vehicle and stood in the far left lane to the left of the vehicle when she was struck by a 2004 Toyota Tacoma driven by 32 year old Richard Viamontes from Long Beach.

Viamontes changed lanes to avoid hitting the stopped vehicle when he struck Wojciechowska, the truck threw the woman in the air and she was then struck by the truck a second time.

According to HInk the stopped Volvo was then struck by a Ford Escort driven by 47 year old Sandra Herrera of Tustin, this impact sent the Volvo toward the right shoulder of the road where it burst into flames. This is when the third vehicle driven by Bertha Davis age 55 struck the back of the Escort.

CPR was performed at the scene on Wojciechowska, who was then transported from the scene of the accident to the Western Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The two other women were also transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

According to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Greg McKeown there were approximately 20 firefighters from the Orange County Fire Authority, the City of Orange Fire Department and several California Highway Patrol officers on the scene of the accident.

Tustin wrongful death lawyers are looking for additional witnesses to find out if this was a wrongful death in Orange County.
