Orange County Man Killed In Anaheim Hit and Run
July 9, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports by an Anaheim hit and run accident attorney, investigators an Orange County man was hit and killed by a vehicle that left the scene.
The man that was struck and killed has been identified as Antonio Gamez age 50 according to police. The accident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. in the vicinity of Coventry in West Anaheim.
Gamez was crossing Ball Road just before 3:00 a.m. according to police when he was struck and killed. Police stated that Gamez was hit with so much force it knocked his sandals and watch off.
The authorities went on to say that Gamez was not in the crosswalk or at a traffic signal when he was struck and the driver that struck him did not stop to assist him or call authorities.
A nearby resident identified as Brenda Hamouda stated, she heard plastic hit like that sounded like a bomb and went on to state that it is sad for the family and she is hoping the driver turns himself in to police.
According to police this is the second hit and run accident that has occurred in West Anaheim in a week. There was a man identified as Alfredo Morales that was struck by a hit and run driver at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 4th while crossing the street near his home. Morales, was also killed by the vehicle that did not stop, and the authorities believe the vehicle was dark blue after finding paint chips.
The authorities according to Anaheim Police Sgt. Tim Schmidt are asking for the public's assistance in finding the driver of the hit and run that Gamez was struck and killed. Injury lawyers and prosecuting attorneys will want to get hold of whomever caused this accident for certain
