California DUI Arrests Higher During This Weekend Than In 2008

July 5, 2009 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports by the California Highway Patrol, arrests this Independence Day weekend are higher than the same weekend in 2008.

During the weekend so far the California Highway Patrol has made 454 diving under the influence arrests. The DUI arrests were made between Friday at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday at 6:00 a.m.

According to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Trent Cross there have been five people killed in DUI related accidents across the state of California. He went on to state that during this same time period during the Independence Day weekend of 2008, there was four alcohol related traffic deaths.
