Singer From Velevet Revolver Pleads Innocent to DWI Charge
March 16, 2008 (by Otto Smyth)
It has been reported that Scott Weiland who was arrested in 2007 for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs during a car crash pleaded innocent. Police stated that they observed that he appeared to be under the influence and at the time Weiland refused to submit to a blood or urine test and was arrested.
Weiland who did not appear in court entered a plea last week through his defense attorney in a California court, which could later sentence the singer to a maximum of one year in prison. The next court date that has been set for him to appear is April 4th.
When Weiland was arrested he was released on $40,000 bail and according to a statement from the Los Angeles City Attorneys Office the reason he could face up to one year in prison is that this will be a second conviction for driving under the influence.
