Santa Maria Woman Criminally Charged

According to reports Sophia Aguilar age 29 is being charged with vehicular manslaughter. The California Highway Patrol reportedly stated this was the cause of the accident, due to the level of her intoxication.
The charges stem from an accident where Aguilar was allegedly driving under the influence and lost control of the vehicle north of Donovan Road on the 101. Reports are the charges will consist of driving under the influence, along with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, another charge will be reckless driving and causing injury.
The accident occurred Saturday afternoon when Aguilar drove into the center divider to avoid on coming traffic. When she did this the car over turned and one passenger Michelle Kingsley age 28 was ejected from the car. Kingsley reportedly died at the scene of the accident and was a resident of Santa Maria. There was another passenger; Rudy Ramos age 20 who reports are that she sustained minor injuries.
