Early Sunday morning on Route 52 was the scene of a deadly accident when Alejandro Catalan was delivering newspapers for the San Diego Union-Tribune according to reports.
Catalan was driving westbound at approximately 4:30 am when the Dodge Ram he was driving drifted to the left, according reports of California Highway Patrol Office Brad Baehr, when the Dodge went over the guardrail between the east and west bypass. The pickup continued on to Genesee near the border of University City and Claremont.
The family of 19-year-old Alejandro Catalan was notified of his death just after 7am.on Sunday morning.
The second accident occurred shortly after and the driver had minor injuries after hitting a piece of guardrail that was sticking out in the driver’s lane of traffic.
The third accident was also related to the first accident when the driver of this vehicle struck a tire that had come off the Dodge pickup truck. The driver of this vehicle was not hurt in the accident.
The westbound lanes of traffic on Route 52 were closed while repairs were made to the guardrail for approximately five hours and Genesee Avenue reopened in midmorning. If you were injured in a Route 52 car accident, or Los Angeles car accident, contact Los Angeles injury attorneys at 888-400-9721.
