January 17, 2008 (by Zeak Renthrow) Today at Heathrow Airport a Boeing 777 crash landed short of the runway, the plan was a British Airways passenger plane from Beijing and carried 136 passengers and 16 crew members.
The pilot Peter Burkill age 43 stated that the plane lost all power and in order to land they had to glide the plane, another employee at the airport stated the pilot had told him he had lost all the electronics in the cockpit.
Eighteen people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries such as whiplash from exiting the escape ramps.
The Hillingdon Hospital where the injured were taken consisting of 12 women and 6 men were treated for their injuries including whiplash and of these treated four were part of the British Airways crew that was aboard the plane.
All except for one person was released from Hillingdon Hospital, the female who was not released is being held overnight due to the possibility of a concussion, she had been admitted and expected to stay at least one night at the hospital.
Although little is known about the cause of the crash landing of the Boeing 777 it is believed that this is not a terror related.
