Family on Way to Disneyland Injured in Trucking Accident
LOS ANGELES - 2007
Every day in Los Angeles there are auto accidents, some are mere fender benders and others are devastating, the latter could certainly have been the case for a family of three who was on their way to Disneyland.
This accident happened around 10:00 am when according to official reports a tractor-trailer and a sedan collided on the freeway’s southbound lanes. The reports said that the accident entailed the sedan being trapped under the trailer of the truck, what could have turned to disaster was avoided for the family involved, when the trailer burst into flames.
They escaped with minor injuries after being pulled from the sedan by family members who were following behind them in a separate vehicle and helped to free this family of three from the sedan, prior to the trailer being consumed in flames. While there is no report so far of the tractor-trailer diver sustaining injuries it is safe to assume he had none.
This accident closed the southbound lanes of the Golden State Freeway and one northbound lane, as well as backing traffic up on surface streets; in turn this caused thousands of delays in Los Angeles mid morning traffic that were in the vicinity of Whittier Boulevard.
