Driver Killed When Vehicle Plunges Off Malibu Cliff
February 16, 2012-According to reports the driver of a vehicle was killed when the car they were driving plunged off of a Malibu road.
According to authorities the driver of a car plunged off of a road near Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains at approximately 12:00 p.m. The vehicle went off of the road and fell approximately 100 feet down a canyon in the vicinity of Kanan Dume Road, bursting into flames, according to fire officials.
Fire department officials said, the crash caused the vehicle to burst into flames and ignited a two acre fire that is being fanned by the canyon winds. Over 100 firefighters responded to the scene of the crash.
Kanan-Dume Road was closed and is expected to remained closed in the vicinity between Latigo Canyon Road and the Pacific Coast Highway.
