Highway 91 Crash Causes SigAlert—Closing Four Lanes
February 2, 2012 – According to reports a crash on the 91 Freeway caused a SigAlert to be issued.
According to the California Highway Patrol the accident was reported at approximately 6:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway in the vicinity of North Tustin Avenue.
California Highway Patrol officials stated that the crash involved a Ford Fusion that veered off of the eastbound lanes near North Tustin Avenue, hitting a steel light pole knocking it down.
The car accident caused four lanes of the 91 Freeway to be blocked and a SigAlert to be issued and cancelled at 7:46 a.m. for the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes.
According to witnesses the Fusion went off of the right shoulder of the freeway into bushes. The driver of the Ford Fusion was unconscious for a time and was transported to a local hospital, CHP said.
California Highway Patrol Officer Oswaldo Guzman who was at the scene of the crash retrieved the registration paperwork from the vehicle that was wedged in the bushes.
