Birth Control Pills Recalled—May Not Prevent Pregnancy
February 1, 2012 – According to reports the manufacturer of birth control pills has issued a recall, since the pills might not prevent pregnancy.
Tuesday the drug company Pfizer issued a recall of some of the birth control pills they manufacturer in the United States. Pfizer stated that the recall involved 14 lots of Lo/Ovral 28 tablets and 14 lots of Norgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets. The total of the recall according to reports is approximately one million packets of birth control pills.
According to Pfizer said the recalled birth control pills poses no health risks, but might not prevent pregnancy. During an investigation Pfizer stated that some of the blister packages of birth control pills might not contain the exact amount of active ingredients in the tablets.
